" WHO MOVED MY CHEESE ? " Book Review

WHO MOVED MY CHEESE ?

( by Dr. Spencer Johnson )

A few days before, I got this book from my brother. After reading it I wondered how the book conveyed the real essence of it through a simple story of four imaginary characters. Every person face the vicissitudes of life and those who don’t adapt themselves according to the circumstances blames destiny for all the wrongdoings. People rebuff to accept changes, adhere to old things and wait for the time to come back.

The book describes awe-inspiring ways to deal with the kaleidoscopic changes in the day to day life.   The four imaginary protagonist of this story are: the mice “Sniff” and “Scurry” and the little people: “Ham” and “Haw”. These all four name represents the four facets of human being. Some or the other time we act like among these four characters of the story.

The story is about the proclivity of the four and about the changes that takes place in the “maze” where these four look for the “cheese”.

Cheese is the metaphor for what we want to have in our life and maze is a metaphor for where we want to spend time for our cheese. The mice use the simple trial and error method of finding cheese, sniff would smell out the general direction of the cheese and scurry would race ahead. Whereas the two little man hem and haw used their past experiences and mainly relied on the complex brains. They all found their kind of cheese one day and the confidence of the hem and haw changed into arrogance but the mice were prepared for the inevitable changes.

One day they found no cheese at that channel. Since the mice were well aware of the fact that cheeses were on its last legs, they didn’t find difficult to adapt according to it and moved out in search for new cheese. In contrast the hem and haw were not prepared for the change and they started playing the blaming game. They ranted and raved and finally haw decided to move from there for searching new cheese but hew refute to go along with haw and wanted to wait for the old time to come back. Haw used his mind and pondered upon his mistakes which pave him the path toward the success and at the end finally he found place lousy with all kind of cheese and also found mice “sniffer” and “scurry” over there with a little belly around their waist. He realized that he could have learn to deal with change much earlier, if he noticed when the little changes begins.

So the moral of the story is that we should be thoroughly updated even for the small changes in our life, as a small change can flip our life 180 and also the movement toward the new direction helps you find new cheese. The quicker you forget your old time, the better u can deal with the new challenges.

MAGICAL RAINDROPS

Its raining so hard outside which makes me feel like writing this blog. The tiny droplet on the leaves of tree, the freshness of the nature and the smell of the soil, the pleasent gentle balmy breeze crossing ur face. The cute black clouds floating slowly and blandly in the celestial sphere.

The mellow touch of magical rain drops tunes me nostalgic. I remember the dayz of my childhood when i used to bath in the lap of nature during rain....making paper boats and sailing them in the rain water. Wish i could go back to my innocent childhood days. Well time never stops for anyone and u hv to go on with ur life as past time never come back.

People say that nothing is impossible in this world then why its impossible to hold the time.

Yeh daulat bhi lelo, yeh shoharat bhi lelo
Bhale cheen lo, mujhse meri jawani
Magar mujhko lautado bachpan ka saawan
Woh kagaz ki kashti, woh baarish ka paani...

written by precocious genius Jagjit Singh....how touchy and true are these lines....

I remember hw as a young child i used to adore these days...sitting in the terrace shades njoying samosas , jaleebiya or daal ki pakodia with all the family members while staring those wet roads, sparkling trees and overcast atmosphere. So these rain drop brought back many memories of past and hence i names this blog as "Magical Raindrops". Now also i cherish the rainy season but now i dont jump into the puddles while coming back frm somewere and and I cant race my scooter or bike or car through a water puddle which i used to do while coming back from school. Time has changed and so I.

i am writing this blog sitting in front of my desktop eating garam pratha made by my mom njoying the weather...

At the end i want to say that life is very wonderful and there is joy to found in all facets of our life, if we are aware enough to notice....

IPL Buzz

"Indian premier league"-cynosure of all eyes who love cricket will going to be held with almost the same schdule date and the same timing but the venue has been relocated and now they will be hosted by country other then India.

England and South Africa have emerged as the most probable countries which are going to host IPL. Both countries has given the clean chit to the BCCI. The reason behind this is the 45 days IPL dates clashes with the forthcoming central election.

BCCI president Mr Mahohar said that because of the govt.'s attitude they cannot provide security, so we were forced to take decision to move this event outside India. He appologied to the cricket lover in India for not being able to hold the event in India.

Last year Indian govt earned 91 crore from tax so it will be a great blow for the Indian govt and all tax will be fetched away by the England or South African govt.

Apart from the political issues, i think its a great decision considering the current scenerio. I m happy because the IPL has not been canceled and its really fun watching T20 matches. I hope just like the last IPL, Rajasthan Royal will win the trophy again.

So friends get ready to watch the most wanted and most exciting Indian Premier League 2 full of drama, emotion, excitement. I am sure it would be again fun watching huge roaring crowds and ofcourse the sexy cheerleaders.

Inflation, Disinflation, Deflation

In Newspaperes or on News channels these three terms " Inflation, Disinflation and Deflation " are being used again and again. We keep on reading nowadays that Indian economy is heading toward Deflation or negative inflation, that means the inflation rate is approaching toward zero. Not only India but other countries are also facing the same. I read in the TOI yesterday that inflation rate at 32 year low of .44%, the lowest since 1977. Some economic pundits have prognosticate that India may face the deflation. The point is that=>This deflation is same that the country is looking at or afraid of ? Can deflation be bad as well good ?? Couple of quarter back india was struggling wid inflation and congress govt was crying like hell and now when elctions are less then a month aways its deflation whose taken there breath away.

Inflation:

Inflation is nothing but the "increase in the supply of money" which resulted in an "increase in price", but now the term inflation is redefined as " the substantial increase in prices".

When the supply of money is increased i.e if govt prints more money, people have more money to offer for goods(that means value of money falls) and if the supply of goods remains the same or does not increase accordingly to the supply of money then the price of goods rises. And this what happen under inflation.

** Money supply is the total amount of money existing in a economy at a point of time.

Disinflation And Deflation:

Disinflation means lower inflation. Prices are not increasing as quickly as they once did but they are still rising. A drop in inflation rate from 3% in one year to 2% in next is an example of disinflation. When this drop in inflation rate becomes less than zero, the economy is said to be under deflation if it exists for a sustainable period.

Generally people have trouble understanding the difference between these two terms. Disinflation and deflation are two very different terms. In disinflation price levl rises at a lower rate but in deflation price level does not increases at all but actually decreases. Generally a one time fall in the price level does not constitute deflation, instead one has to see falling prices for well over a year to conclude that economy suffers from inflation.

Deflation is caused by a shift in the supply and demand of goods. Its a myth among the people that deflation is always bad. Deflation can be good as well as bad depending upon the cause of that deflation. If the cause if the increasing supply of good the the deflation is good but if the cause is decreasing supply of money then it is bad for the economy.

WHY LIFE IS NOT AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS

WHY LIFE IS NEVER AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS
SOMETMES I ASK THIS QUESTION TO MYSELF
IN THE MORNING DAWN AND THE EVENING DUSK
WHY ARE WE LEFT ALONE IN THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHTS
WHY ARE WE LEFT ALONE IN RAINS TO CRY
WHY LIFE IS NOT AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS
WHY THINGS NEVER TURN THE WAY
WE WISH THEM TO APPEAR
WHY WE DON'T GET WHAT WE ASPIRE OF
WHY ARE OUR ASPIRATIONS CHAINED DOWN
BY OUR MERE LUCK
WHY LIFE IS NOT AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS
WHEN EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE ALRIGHT
WHEN LIFE SEEMS TO BE AGAIN STABLISING
WHY ARE WE ALWAYS TRAPPED AT THE CROSSROAD OF RELATIONSHIPS
NOT KNOWING WHERE IT WOULD LEAD
WHY LIFE IS NOT AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS
WHY WE ARE ALWAYS BETRAYED BY THOSE WHOM WE LOVE THE MOST
WHY THEY DITCH US WHEN WE SUPPORT THEM THE MOST
WHY THEY MAKE US FEEL OFFENDED
WHY THEY LEAVE US WHEN WE WANT THEM THE MOST
WHY WE ARE LEFT ALONE
WITH NO ONE TO HELP
WITH NO ONE TO UNDERSTAND
THIS IS LIFE WHICH IS NOT AS ROSY AS IT APPEARS.

Recollecting College Life :"The Inerasable Journey"

The College life is supposed to be the best time in a persons life. My college life is the same. I am in the final semester and when i think abt the last day of my college my heart becomes heavy and eyes become wet.I stand at this jucture and look back now, time went by so fast, I wonder how a 18 year old innocuous guy 1st time entered the college premisis with the onus of coping with the new environment, finding new friends, new aim, new vision, learning the meaning of friendship and also with the fear of ragging. How nervous i was on 1st day of my college life, i cant describe u people.

1st day morning of my 1st semester, my 1st step into the citybus and i found myself surrounded by my seniors, ohh i was really terrified. They told me to do funky n wierd things and i did..like selling vegitables to the ppl sitting in the bus etc etc.But in few days got useto of these things. In terms of frndship i hv a gudluck, so managed to get new friends. Then in 2nd year we were the senior and it was our turn to rag, well i was not much into the ragging but still kept my collor upright after all i was also not untouched by the college tashan. As the time passed this young innocent guy turned into convivial.

Friend what a beautiful word god has made, when u r feeling low, depressed or when u wanna njoy or when u want to share ur success or failure u'll find them near u. Bunking Classes, Nightouts, Railwaystation , Saras Parlour at 2 am, damn i m going to miss those last night study before univ exams, nightouts during internals, chole kulche,n cautious while eating pani pataashe so that no c us eating them.

Life is a BITCH....
When life decides to kick u, it kicks u badly....
Everything goes wrong when time is wrong....

I dont knw whats there in my life but memories of everyone, who was close and who was dear, memories of doing thing which i nvr thought i'll, learning the new thing everyday, memories of people, who brought smile on my face will never fade aways. I want to keep all of them safe, cant spare a single one. Destiny is the only thing that u cant amend..ppl says that u hv to make ur own destiny but i want to ask one ques to them if one is destined to die then why cant u avert that.

Now 3 to 4 mnths r left aftr that no-one will have the time for nightout, railwaystation, there will b no class bunks, but what we can do is to keep the memories with ourself. For my frnds i want to say : whereever you go my network follows you ;).

Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away
It's so unreal
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on, but didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go

Rightly said, you cant stop the time so its better to walk with time dont regret afterwards. So, i am going to enjoy my last semester without any regrets.

Begger Problem In India.

The problem of begging is one of the most acute one in India and its a matter of great shame for everyone. In India it has become a profession and a source of earning for more than 40 lac people.

The cause of begging are many. 1st of all some people are physically incapable of doing work. Such beggers deserve sympathy but the number of such is not very great. Secondaly there are organization which train people the art of begging and after a time they become expert. Now a days these beggers are the work of the mafia.

The problem of begging is knotty. You can run but can never hide, they are everywhere. On the streets, near temples, bus station, railwaystation. There breed is omnipotent in India. This problem is gignatic but is not incurable by creating healthy public opinion against it and by passing stringent laws against it. India as a nation need to think abt it. Philanthropic approach to begger problem should be replaced by curative measures.
